Higher papers include more advanced algebra, functions, geometry and problem solving. Foundation work can still be multi-step and demands secure core number skills.

- Performance across several timed papers
- Which topics have actually been taught
- Accuracy on core questions
- Ability to start and sustain unfamiliar problems
- Teacher judgement and the awarding organisation's current rules
Choose practice that teaches
A paper is useful when it is challenging enough to expose gaps but not so inaccessible that most responses are blank. Review the pattern with a teacher.
