Edexcel IGCSE Maths mark schemes
Use the mark scheme for the exact paper you attempted. Match the full paper code, tier, series and year before comparing answers. Official marking material explains how credit is awarded; an independent worked solution is an explanation, not a substitute for those instructions.
Access official material
Find publicly released marking material through Pearson’s qualification resources. Respect access restrictions on recent papers. Maiths does not republish protected mark schemes through this page.

Compare working, not only answers
- Read the question’s marking notes and any alternative methods.
- Identify the first line where your method or arithmetic diverges.
- Check units, required accuracy and whether a justification was requested.
- Record uncertain marking decisions for a teacher to review rather than treating an automated estimate as official.
Turn the review into practice
Group errors by the mathematical skill that caused them. If you lost accuracy after choosing a correct method, practise the arithmetic and checking step. If you chose the wrong method, revisit the conditions under which that method applies. Reattempt the question later without the scheme beside you.
