The evidence
For the equation 4x + 3 = 19, the demonstration working shows 4x = 16 and x = 4. Both inverse operations are visible and the final answer checks in the original equation.
The rationale
- The subtraction of 3 is applied consistently.
- The division by 4 is correct.
- Substitution gives 4(4) + 3 = 19.
The review boundary
If the first line had been faint enough to read as 4x − 3, the result should be flagged for inspection. A confident rationale cannot repair uncertain source recognition.
